Brown and Wiley sentencings moved to Feb. 24
Two people tied to an attempted murder in Fremont County were supposed to be handed their sentences Tuesday, but it was instead moved to Feb. 24.
Last month, Jermaine Wiley pleaded guilty to attempted murder in the first degree in a April 2014 plot that targeted Jessica Brown’s stepfather.
In July, Brown pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting attempted murder after providing Wiley with ammunition, transportation and a hotel room.
Tuesday afternoon, Wiley’s attorney Jim Archibald asked for a continuance. He had worries that the defense didn’t get all of the relevant statements from the co-defendant, Brown. Archibald also raised questions as to whether Brown might change her plea after Wiley’s sentencing.
After a brief recess, the state joined that motion. It was then granted by Judge Greg Moeller. That moved the sentencing to Feb. 24, a day in which Moeller said he will not tolerate any shenanigans.
On April 6 in Island Park, Wiley shot Eric Norlen, of Driggs, in the shoulder and in the back of his head. Norlen was hospitalized and released.
