All Under One Roof gives gifts to seniors
POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - A gift can go a long way. That's why the LGBT advocacy group in Pocatello is giving gift bags to senior citizens in the community.
All Under One Roof works with Meals on Wheels each year to give out 30 gift bags to seniors.
On Thursday, Meals on Wheels delivered this year's gifts to the recipients.
Each bag is unique to the recipient. Community members and volunteers with All Under One Roof shop for gifts on the recipient's wish list.
"(The gifts) are way beyond what they want. We try to go way above because these are our seniors. These are the people that’s made what we have today... and we need to maintain and take care of them to make sure they have a great year and holiday, too,” said Tom Nestor of All Under One Roof.
Each bag includes a note from Nestor that encourages the recipient to reach out to All Under One Roof and stay in touch. Nestor says they have about 10 pen pals that they send cards to throughout the year.
