Gordon’s mental town hall meetings continue in Rock Springs on Nov. 29
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KIFI) – Governor Mark Gordon’s series of Town Hall meetings addressing mental health care in the state continue, with the next meeting scheduled for Nov. 29 in Rock Springs.
The Rock Springs Town Hall will be held from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at Western Wyoming Community College’s Western Theatre. The discussion is open to the public and aimed at fostering open conversations with community members and partners about efforts to increase awareness of available resources and improve access to care. Representatives of the executive, legislative and judicial branches are invited to attend, as well as local elected officials.
“We engaged in honest, direct face-to-face communication at our first two town halls and I look forward to continuing the discussion in Rock Springs,” Governor Gordon said. “I encourage residents of southwest Wyoming to take part in these vital conversations.”
Governor Gordon is prioritizing improving access to mental health resources. The Health Care Task Force is working to identify barriers, opportunities, and gaps in the network of mental health and substance abuse care in the state. The Town Halls are an opportunity to hear from local communities with firsthand experience of this issue.
