Truck train accident sends one to the hospital

One woman was injured in an accident between a train and a semi truck, north of Sugar City Monday night.

Around 5 pm, a Peterbilt semi with a trailer, was driving westbound on 200 N towards US Highway 20. The semi stopped on the tracks and an Eastern Idaho Railroad locomotive traveling southbound struck it. The railroad tracks in this area run parallel to HWY 20.

Lori Clark, 52, of Arco, was driving the Peterbilt. Clark was transported by ground ambulance to Madison Memorial Hospital. There is no word on her condition. The engineer of the locomotive was not injured.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police with the assistance from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
