Prepare your lawn for winter
Winter is approaching and you need to prepare your garden.
The middle of October and November is the best time to do maintenance on your lawn before the cold months.
“You want to be able to do all of work that you can now in the fall because come springtime there’s a lot to do,” said Aaron McCracken, with Sunnyside Gardens.
Most people believe that spring is the best time to fertilize their lawn but McCracken says it’s the fall.
Here’s five steps you can take to prepare your lawn:
1. Fertilize
2. Hydrate plants
3. Protect plants
4. Clean up
5. Plant new plants
Keeping up with this in the fall lessens the chance of rodent issues in the spring.
