Colder and Dry to begin February
Dense fog and low clouds into midday for areas around Idaho Falls and the Teton Basin. Low beams and caution should be used when traveling. Visibility may be less a 1/4 mile. Fog may freeze on windshields and yield flurries and make for slicker than normal conditions.
After that front yesterday stirred up some warming winds around here, we're hit with cold arctic air today into mid-week. Highs won't get much past 18 in Idaho Falls, around 23 in Pocatello and into the lower valley areas. We'll have a slight chance of scattered snow showers, better chances for the mountains. Wind chills with just a slight breeze will be below zero and eventually settling high pressure will push actual lows below zero by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. Mostly cloudy conditions, occasional areas of fog and convergence may yield some sketch conditions and show off some snow for us. We'll have a trough push across late tonight with northerly flow and a slight chance of showers in the evening for the valley, mainly upper highlands and mountain communities.
Continued cold for the next 3 days and middle teens for tomorrow with a slight peek of sun, light winds, lows bottoming out for everyone.
