Armed bank robber arrested

AMERICAN FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 9/7/23: Police have arrested the suspect who is accused of an armed bank robbery at a Bank of Commerce in American Falls last Friday.

Steven James Parker of Mountain Home was arrested in Boise on a Power County warrant for armed robbery.

The 49-year old was booked into the Ada County Jail with a $750,000 bond.

Parker was stopped by an Ada County task force in the blue ford pick-up seen in surveillance images from the bank. 

The American Falls Police Department would like to thank the public for the tips and information that led to the arrest.


UPDATE 9/5/23: The American Falls Police Department is still attempting to identify the male suspect in the Friday Bank of Commerce armed robbery.

Police released additional photos of suspect on Tuesday.

The suspect is described to be in his late 40ā€™s to early 50ā€™s. The suspect is approximately 5ā€™10 with a heavy build. The suspect was wearing a dark hat, sunglasses, grey mask, with a grey t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The suspect left the area in a 2008-2010 Blue Ford F250. There were no plates on the vehicle at the time of the Robbery. The suspectā€™s vehicle has a White Idaho decal on the upper top back window.


ORIGINAL 9/1/23: The hunt is on for an armed bank robber.

The American Falls Police Department and Power County Sheriff Office responded to the Bank of Commerce on Tyhee ave in Amreican Falls Friday.

The suspect took off on foot on Roosevelt sStreet.

The suspect is described to be in his late 40ā€™s to early 50ā€™s and approximately 5ā€™10 with a heavy build.

The suspect was wearing a dark hat, sunglasses, grey mask, with a grey t-shirt, blue jeans and black work boots.
