Officials identify man found dead in Chubbuck
CHUBBUCK, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 3/20/24: The Bannock County Coroner’s Office, in cooperation with the Chubbuck Police Department, has confirmed the identity of the man found dead on West Linden Avenue in Chubbuck on March 13.
Officials say 22-year-old Nasibu Nuro of Boise was found lying on the ground in a horse pasture on the property.
Next of kin has been notified.
The incident remains under investigation by Chubbuck Police.
UPDATE 3/14/24: Chubbuck Police Chief Nick Sasser issued an update Thursday morning about a body found in Chubbuck.
According to Chief Sasser, at approximately 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, members of the Chubbuck Police Department responded to a home on West Linden Avenue after a citizen found some blood and clothing items on their property.
While collecting the evidence, a deceased man was found lying on the ground in a horse pasture on the property. A firearm was also located nearby, and at this time, Chief Sasser said it can't be ruled out the evidence is related to the shooting that took place on Tuesday.
The man has not yet been identified, and the Chubbuck Police Department is seeking your help. If you have any information pertaining to this investigation, contact the Communications Center at (208) 237-7172.

ORIGINAL: A body was found Wednesday night in the same area police in Chubbuck were investigating an earlier shooting.
The Bannock County Coroner confirmed the body of a man was found and an investigation is underway.
The previous shooting call came in Tuesday night just before midnight for a disturbance in the area of West Linden Avenue.
Investigators say when officers arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her arm and a man who had been shot in the hand.
Both were taken to the hospital.
It's not known if the two incidents are related.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
