Eastern Idaho Visitors Center rebranded and repurposed as experience destination
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber (‘GIFC’) announced the rebranding and repurposing of the Eastern Idaho Visitors Center as the ‘Visit Idaho Falls Experience.’
The chamber will now market the area as a ‘Destination Location’ and move away from the term ‘Gateway City.’
The Visit Idaho Falls Experience will become the central hub for all tourism in the Greater Idaho Falls area. Space has been created within the center for tourist partners to have an all-year-round physical presence in the store to engage and interact with the 30,000 visitors that enter through its doors and the 100,000 visitors to the VisitIdahoFalls.Com website.
Statistics show visitor centers are now pivoting to become a destination in their own right. Tourists who visit these centers are 40% more likely to see two to three more locations than initially planned and, in 10% of those cases, extend their stay by a day or more.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and a block party will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
