Sports Line Game of the Week Preview: Highland vs. Rigby

RIGBY, Idaho (KIFI) - Two of the best football programs in Idaho collide Friday night in Rigby when the Trojans host the Highland Rams.

It's the conference opener for both teams, beginning the all-important three game 5A High Country slate as Highland and Rigby, along with Madison and Thunder Ridge, chase 5A playoff spots.

The Trojans have won back-to-back 5A state championships and three of the last four. After an 0-3 start this year, with two of those losses coming against two terrific teams from Utah, Rigby has won three straight contests entering conference play.

Highland, meanwhile, is 5-1 so far this season and ranked second in this week's 5A Idaho statewide media poll. The Rams have won 11 state championships and they chase their first title since 2017 this year.
