Brian Leigh Dripps, the man who investigators say confessed to killing Angie Dodge in 1996, appeared in court for a preliminary hearing Friday. 

She worked the DNA involved with the Angie Dodge murder case and found no evidence of Christopher Tapp’s DNA.

After spending nearly two decades in prison for a crime he did not commit, Christopher Tapp was exonerated from the wrongful conviction of the 1996 murder of Angie Dodge Wednesday.

“There exists clear and convincing evidence that Petitioner (Christopher Tapp) was convicted of a crime for which he did not commit.”

Update July 1, 2019 1:19 p.m.:  Christopher Tapp appeared in Court on Monday for a status conference, where his defense team asked the court to exonerate his wrongful conviction of raping and killing Angie Dodge.

On June 13, 1996, Angie Dodge was raped and murdered. In the days and years that followed the investigation has continued and questions have remained.
