ICCU Splash pad grand opening & Brooklyn’s Playground grand re-opening on Monday
POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - Residents of Southeastern Idaho have a refreshing new way to beat the summer heat.
The Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department held a grand opening ceremony on Monday to unveil the Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) Splashpad in O.K. Ward Park.
The ICCU splashpad features a garden theme with approximately 3,000 square feet of “wet zone,” with water features spraying in various directions. Designed to cater to different age groups, the splashpad includes a section specifically for toddlers and another with more dynamic water features for older children.
The event also featured the grand re-opening of Brooklyn’s Playground. This spring, the playground underwent significant improvements, including installing a new turf surface.
Thanks to support from Brooklyn’s Buddies and the hard work of several volunteers, additional enhancements including painting of the equipment were made to the playground. This is the first resurfacing of the playground since its opening in 2011. The playground was originally built through donations to ensure accessibility for all children, including those with disabilities.
