Natallia Dummar wins Distinguished Student Award
The weekly United Dairymen of Idaho Distinguished Student Award winners excel often excel in many areas, and this week’s winner is no exception. Natallie Dummar stands out in sports, academics, student government, and music.
“Music is a huge part of my life,” Natallia said. “It’s one of the things that has taught me a lot in my life, like discipline and enjoyment.”
Natallia is student body president at Madison High School. She works hard to to reach out to as many students as possible to make them feel included and involved.
“My favorite part is having the extra opportunity to meet everyone in the school — that’s the best part,” Natallia said.
Natallia has a number of impressive achievements. She’s president of the award winning speech and debate team, a soccer player, a member of the pep band, and winner of Madison’s Dancing with the Stars competition. In addition to that, she takes hard classes like college anatomy and physiology and pre-calculus. She maintains a 4.0 GPA. How does she balance everything?
“As I’ve chosen to do these things, I prioritize them, and within these activities you just have to prioritize everything you do, and then you do what’s most important, and then what’s not important falls out of your life,” Natallia said.
Natallia has learned how to unlock the secret of happiness for high school students.
“I think the key is to remember who you are and always try to improve who you are and then you’ll be happy because then you’re not comparing yourself to anybody else,” Natallia said.
