NFB Hosts State Convention for the Blind

The National Federation for the Blind partnered with the Idaho Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired Friday to kick off its annual state convention.

The convention featured new technology to help those with blindness or impaired vision with daily life, as well as employment. NFB officials said the convention is all about raising awareness about blindness and equality.

“Blindness is not the characteristic that defines you. Ever day in the federation we try to push high expectations. Low expectations create obstacles,” said federation official Anil Lewis.

The convention will go through Sunday, but the registration ends Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
