Blackfoot woman organizes Christmas wishes
A Blackfoot woman is working to make Christmas happen for as many people as she can. She’s not a millionaire, she didn’t win the lottery this season, she’s just a person looking to make people smile.
“I know what that’s like when you don’t know if you’re going to have
Christmas,” said Autumn Retford, the woman working to give as many people in the area some sort of Christmas.
“I know what it’s like to not want to reach out for help, that’s embarrassing for a lot of people,” said Retford.
Retford started a Facebook group called “Christmas for kids in Blackfoot and surrounding areas” around Thanksgiving. More and more families reached out with things they could donate and families that were in need. Retford says she knew when families were genuine and wanted to help those families that truly needed it.
“Seeing the kids, it just makes my day,” said Retford.
Retford and company will be making rounds throughout eastern Idaho on Thursday, Christmas Eve. If you or someone you know are available and willing- you can contact Autum here to donate your time and/or resources.
