Man killed in train, vehicle collision

A 19-year-old Nampa man died after the vehicle he was driving collided with a train in Kuna in southwest Idaho.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office in a news release Tuesday says Peter Justin Francois died Monday afternoon of blunt force trauma. Coroner Dotti Owens listed the collision as an accident.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office says the train was heading west at more than 55 mph when it struck the vehicle, which was crossing the tracks.

The train didn’t derail

Deputies are working with railroad officials to determine the cause of the crash.
