4 Killed In Burley Plane Crash ID’d

A small aircraft left the Burley airport at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. According to the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office, the plane crashed just south of the end of the runway. The plane was carrying four passengers.

Pilot Randal Whittle, 42, Vicki Whittle, 46, MacLean Whittle, 16, and Brittany Whittle, 13, all died in the crash. They were all from Claremont, California.

Highway 30/East Main St. in Burley is closed from Pomerelle Ave. to the junction of Highway 30/East Main St. and Highway 81/Declo Highway. The roads will remain closed until the National Transportation Safety Board concludes its investigation. The sheriff’s office is asking everyone to avoid the area if possible.
