Investigations ongoing for online Christmas tree scam

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Better Business Bureau with the state of Idaho is investigating Adjustable Trees for scamming shoppers online who are buying Christmas trees with them.

The Better Business Bureau received several complaints from these buyers who were scammed by the Adjustable Trees. According to the shoppers, when they had purchased the trees online, it claimed that the trees were then unavailable. Shoppers would quickly apply for a full refund, but were denied completely as Adjustable Trees would not make any contact back with the shopper.

Under this investigation, it was uncovered that their physical address is nonexistent. Adjustable Trees is supposedly located at 1705 W Broadway Street to the west side of downtown in Idaho Falls. When the Better Business Bureau went there, they discovered that there were no Christmas trees and no Adjustable Tree business. Instead, the address belongs to different companies sharing the same commercial complex

.Another suspicious thing spotted by the Better Business Bureau was that Artificial Trees don't have an Idaho operating license. They are required to have one with the Secretary of State

.The website itself was discovered to be created as a Chinese site back in April. They used screenshots of other Christmas tree lots for their own business. Nobody has even discovered who owns the business as no one answers the phone or the email in the contact form. This is still under investigation and the Better Business Bureau advises us not to use this business.
