Chad Daybell trial moves to the next stage

BOISE, Idaho (KIFI) - Judge Steven W. Boyce says he now has enough potential jurors to move into the next phase of the Chad Daybell trial.

A surprise move Friday morning, the judge continued to question more jurors despite the fact they had reached the 50 jurors Judge Boyce originally wanted.

They reached that number plus two Thursday night. They now have 57.

Just before 1 p.m., the judge announced he had enough to move on to peremptory strikes.

That process will begin Monday at 10 a.m.

We will let you know as soon as those peremptory strikes begin and when we have a jury seated.

Daybell is accused of three counts of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of Tammy Daybell, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan. He is also facing insurance fraud and grand theft charges.
