Utah health officials are investigating a norovirus outbreak in Utah County connected to frozen half-shell oysters from South Korea.

In July, the Food and Drug Administration announced the potential norovirus contamination of frozen oysters from Korea. At the time, restaurants and consumers were advised not to sell or eat frozen oysters harvested between Dec. 30, 2024, and Feb. 6 from 11 lots in the country.

A Murray woman has been arrested and charged Wednesday with filming herself sexually abusing a young boy and distributing the video more than 200 times.

Jodee Davis, 31, is charged in 3rd District Court with aggravated sexual abuse of a child and aggravated sexual exploitation of a child, first-degree felonies.

Death row inmate Ralph Leroy Menzies will not be granted another competency hearing.

On Thursday, 3rd District Judge Matthew Bates denied the latest petition by Menzies’ attorneys to take another look at their client’s mental competency. While Bates agrees with “Menzies’ claim that his physical and mental difficulties have worsened over time … the court concludes Menzies has not shown a substantial change of circumstances to warrant a new hearing.”

A woman was arrested Monday in a stalking case that Cottonwood Heights police called “incredibly alarming” because of apparent delusions the woman has about her and the victim in the case — songwriter and Utah local, Post Malone.

According to Malone’s family, their concern had peaked because the woman’s behavior hadn’t stopped and had instead escalated continuously since early January.

The Deer Creek Fire, which started in eastern Utah and has already destroyed several structures, has crossed the state line into Colorado, state fire officials said Monday night.

At just over 12,900 acres, the fire is bigger than all the other western slope fires combined and is one of several fires that prompted Gov. Jared Polis to issue a disaster declaration on Sunday. Utah Fire Info, a task force comprising state and federal agencies, said the fire crossed into Montrose County, Colorado, around 9 p.m. on Monday and warned that wind gusts of 30 to 50 mph and lightning on Tuesday could spread the fire north, east, and west.
