Sunday evening residents of the Rexburg and surrounding Southeastern Idaho area gathered at the Rexburg tabernacle to show their support for the Ukrainian People. Statements from people from Ukraine, people who have lived there, and Rexburg Mayor Jerry Merrill were given and read. The event both started and ended with a playing of the Ukrainian national anthem.

The Idaho Falls Zoo held a informational meeting Saturday to help prospective new volunteers understand their duties and tasks that they would be taking if they volunteered at the zoo. Interested teens and adults came to see how they could be the right fit for the opportunity.

Ward Hicks is a local master beekeeper. He earnestly believes beekeeping “It’s something you can do whether you have a large piece of property or just a small little city lot.” Hicks is still amazed at the buzz that his classes can generate in the local area. “I’m surprised at how many people are really interested in beekeeping. They want to learn about the hobby. It’s a great hobby. It takes away your stress. I mean, bees are really gentle overall, and you can work with them in a in a calm manner.”

Ukraine refugees are getting some support from Idaho Falls.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – Congregations across Eastern Idaho will be gathering today to offer “Ashes on the Go” this Ash Wednesday, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the 40-day Christian season of repentance.
