The Trio program at Idaho State University works with veterans to ensure they get the resources they need. This Saturday, May 16 was their second annual Veterans and Military Family Resources Fair.

An Idaho Falls resident was rushed to the hospital after a house fire Thursday night.

The fire happened around 6:30 at the corner of Homer Avenue and Stanger Drive. According to the Idaho Falls Fire Department, when its crews arrived on the scene, they found flames venting from a back bedroom window

Crews with Bybee Excavation began work on Monday to install underground lines for nearby development.

The roadway will remain open to northbound traffic throughout the construction. However, southbound drivers are being detoured at 65th north to 5th west, then back around the work zone.

The City is gearing up for the annual Clean & Green citywide cleanup effort, a partnership between Idaho Falls Code Enforcement and Idaho Falls Sanitation Division.

While tests were promising, District 91 officials say they are awaiting information from Home Health Environmental before reopening the doors to students and staff. The district expects another report today, which will determine when students and staff can safely return.

A warmer-than-usual winter and early spring conditions are changing bear behavior across eastern Idaho, according to wildlife experts.

“We had a very mild winter, and that could affect the movement of bears looking for food in different places,” Brower said. “Some of the resources they typically rely on may not be available right now, so they’re looking for high-calorie food sources as easily as they can find them.”

A versatile athlete, Sadiq started at Marsh Valley before cementing his high school career as a Skyline Grizzly. Following his Junior year playing for the Oregon Ducks, Sadiq has become one of this year’s most coveted tight end prospects with a record of 560 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns in the 2025 season.

Allergists tell us the frequent shifting of temperatures, the constant blowing winds, and the spreading of pollen have been forcing our bodies to work harder to adapt, causing stress to our systems. And with more irritants in the air, we could be in for a rough allergy season.

“Extreme temperatures, I mean, cold, dry air is a known airway irritant,” Dr. David Petty, of Idaho Allergy and Asthma Clinic, stated, “And so when we have that spill, like decent weather now or get into freezing cold Idaho weather again. That’s something that can be a big trigger.”

The TRIO Program at ISU is designed to help veterans and active duty military members find resources and support them through their education. The biggest event of the year for TRIO is coming up next month, the Military Families Resource Fair.

The Frontier Center for the Performing Arts, formerly the Idaho Falls Civic Center, has finished its expansion, making the local landmark more ADA accessible.

Wednesday, city officials and community leaders gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of a multi-year, multi-million dollar expansion designed to modernize the historic venue.

A mobile clinic from Optum is working to close that gap by bringing preventative care directly to communities across eastern Idaho.

The Life Together Alliance is collecting feminine hygiene products, fabric, and underwear to send to girls in Kenya.

They focus on 3 goals: Sustainable food solutions, reusable feminine hygiene kits, and practical skills training, such as sewing.
