A local pizza shop, Pie Hole, has temporarily closed its doors, citing online threats, after a dispute involving a customer wearing a MAGA hat blew up on social media. Managers of the pizzeria are saying that the situation was blown “out of proportion” online.

The restaurant has issued a statement affirming that in its five years of business, it has “NEVER…refused service to anyone based on their political, religious, or other beliefs.”

“The biggest step is to make that phone call or show up somewhere and ask for help, and that’s always very honored when someone has the strength to do that.”

Some people might hear elk bugling off in the distance, which sounds like high-pitched screaming. Bulls make these sounds to attract female elk and warn other bulls to stay away.

An overturned fuel trailer is causing partial traffic delays on U.S. Highway 91, just north of Shelley, near the Bingham and Bonneville County line. The cause of the crash has not been released at this time.

One right lane is currently blocked. ITD is advising drivers to expect delays and seek alternative routes if possible. Emergency crews are working to clear the scene, but there is no immediate timeline for when the highway will be fully reopened.

On September 11, 2025, the Bonneville County Fire Department, in collaboration with Heroes Defense, unveiled a poignant 9/11 memorial in Ammon, Idaho. The centerpiece of the tribute is a piece of steel from the World Trade Center, positioned between two towers, symbolizing the unity and resilience that emerged in the wake of the tragic events 24 years ago.

“Because we know that area right in town in Idaho Falls is so busy, it has been on our radar for many years already to make a very large scale improvement.”

“We know this route needs improvements and have been very focused on working towards them,” ITD District Engineer Jason Minzghor said. “We’re excited to get public input on the design and see construction happen in the very near future.”

In a move to improve student and staff safety, Bonneville Joint School District 93 cut the ribbon on a new office and security entry to Falls Valley Elementary in Idaho Falls on Wednesday. 

The renovation places the school office directly at the main entrance, creating a more secure and efficient entry point. The new setup features a single-point access system with locking security doors, ensuring all visitors must pass through the office before entering the school. This also provides a much larger workspace for staff and makes it easier for parents and visitors to pick up and drop off students without navigating the school’s hallways.

“This is more functional, it’s safer,” said school secretary Tiana Sautter. “Some of them [students and teachers] are not used to change… but for the most part, everybody loves it.”

“Sometimes people get impatient, start weaving in and out of those situations, trying to gain some ground, and that can be dangerous.”

In a moving tribute to the heroes of 9/11 and our local first responders, the Idaho Falls Police Department and Anheuser-Busch are hosting their annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb from today through September 11.

Police, firefighters, and Anheuser-Busch employees will honor the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and 8 paramedics who lost their lives by climbing 2,071 steps—matching the 110 floors of the Twin Towers.

The event is meant to remember those who were lost to drug overdose, support families who have been affected, and help the public know what resources are available to prevent and recover from overdose.
