With the summer travel season officially underway, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is issuing a crucial reminder for travelers. So far this year, TSA officers at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport have intercepted six firearms at security checkpoints, with three in April alone.

That’s nearly halfway to last year’s total of 13, which set a record for the airport.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies are participating with the Idaho Office of Highway Safety and Law Enforcement from around the state looking for seatbelt violations. Going into Memorial Day weekend and the beginning of the 100 deadliest days of summer, this mobilization will put extra Deputies on our roads in high traffic areas looking for and enforcing seat belt violations.

The Idaho Falls Police Department is looking for a juvenile runaway, Cordell Kenworthy. Cordell is a 17-year-old white male with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is 6 feet tall and approximately 160 pounds. Cordell was last seen wearing a black hoodie and plaid coat and was carrying a yellow backpack. Cordell was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on May 19th, at his residence in Idaho Falls.

The Idaho Falls Rotary Club is making waves as they gear up for the annual Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race. On Wednesday, the club officially launched its yearly fundraiser, giving the community an exciting sneak peek at this year’s prizes.

This year’s event promises high-flying thrills with a World War II military “warbirds” flyover, alongside speedboat races and an escort down to the greenbelt.

Local law enforcement officers and deputies are lacing up their running shoes for a cause: the annual Special Olympics Idaho Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). The inspiring event kicks off the countdown to the 2025 State Summer Games, where athletes from across Idaho will gather in Nampa from June 6th to 7th to compete in basketball, flag football, track & field, cycling, and aquatics.

Bonneville County road crews will turn three intersections into 4-way stops.

The Union Pacific Railroad will be replacing the railroad crossing on Anderson Street between Holmes Avenue and N. Boulevard in Idaho Falls.

Beginning May 14, Anderson Street from Holmes Avenue to N. Boulevard will be closed to through traffic to complete the work. Business access will remain open through the duration of the project. It’s anticipated that the road will be reopened by 5:00 p.m. May 16.

The Idaho Falls Animal Shelter rescued several puppies Wednesday after receiving reports of a group seen in a field at the corner of 17th and Skyline Drive.

A post on the shelter’s Facebook page reported that the shelter was able to recover three of the dogs, but unfortunately, one of them did not survive. The shelter directors are uncertain if they managed to secure all the dogs.

“Every exhibit we bring in, we bring in because we think it will be interesting and important to the East Idaho community. But this one is truly a big deal – frankly, the biggest we’ve had in more than a decade,” said Muesum of Idaho Executive Director Jeff Carr.

The funds from this year’s 5K go towards the People in Need Coalition (PINC), a service that provides almost 2,000 free meals each week to those in need.

A broken water main is flooding the street and a nearby mobile home park near N Eden Drive in Idaho Falls.

As the iconic game show aired Thursday, an Idaho Falls woman finally fulfilled her lifelong dream of competing on The Price is Right.

To achieve her dream, Catherine Skelton got tickets for three different studio recordings of the decades-old game show earlier this year. It was only on the third taping that she was told to “come on down” and join her fellow contestants and host Drew Carey on the floor.
