Sports Line Friday Night

On a night where emotions were high and the stands were packed, it was the Skyline Grizzlies that made sure the goalposts at Ravsten Stadium stayed powder blue. They did so by setting the tone early with their explosive offense.

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) – The Blackfoot Broncos hosted the Madison Bobcats tonight in Blackfoot, and it was Madison that came out on top and improved their record to 3-2.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The Highland Rams traveled north to Thunder Ridge High School tonight and took a 2 score victory over the Titans. It started on the Rams’ first play of their first possession of the game.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The Tigers came into this game searching for their first win since September 13th of last year, their and first home win since September 30th of 2022. And an interesting fact, Idaho Falls has just 6 wins since the 2022-23 season. Half of those 6 wins have come against Century. But tonight, it was a different story.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – This game entered halftime moments after Skyline QB John Giannini ran one into the endzone himself to tie this game up at 14 a piece. Both teams traded punches in that first half, but it was Skyline’s defensive stand and ensuing drive out of halftime that set them up for success.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The Hillcrest Knights have now won 11 Civil War match-ups. The final score was indicative of a blowout, but the first quarter of play was close. On the Knights opening drive of the game, they worked all the way down inside the Bees’ 5-yard line. That’s when Tyson Sweetwood tossed the ball to Dax Sargent who punched it in for 6, and after the PAT they had a 7-0 lead.

The Russets hosted Wyoming’s Star Valley Braves for their second game of the season. After the Braves jumped out to a 20-0 lead, the game got chaotic in the final minutes of the first half.

AMMON, Idaho (KIFI) – The Hillcrest Knights and the Madison Bobcats went head-to-head at Westmark Stadium in what we called our “Featured Game of the Week”, and it did not disappoint.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – Tonight at Thunder Stadium in Idaho Falls, the Bonneville Bees hosted the Madison Bobcats to kick off the 2025 high school football season. The Bobcats, under new head coach Matt Pancheri, jumped out to an early 19-0 lead.

RIGBY, Idaho (KIFI) – A rematch of last season’s opener, Coeur D’Alene traveled to Rigby to take on the Trojans to kick off the 2025 season. Rigby took the opening possession after the Vikings deferred the coin toss, and senior Trojan QB Jacob Flowers set the tone on that opening drive.

Westmark Stadium hosted this battle between the #2 Hillcrest Knights and the #3 Lakeland Hawks. Lakeland started out with an early lead, going up 14-0 in the first quarter, but in the end Hillcrest’s offense woke up, and mounted a huge comeback winning 42-28.

This quarter-final game went to number 2 Aberdeen 35 to 8 and Aberdeen is off to the semis.

Tonight, a 4A showdown between the Snake River Panthers and the Sugar Salem Diggers. This game being played at the ICCU dome in Pocatello. Sugar-Salem started the game with the ball and worked their way downfield until the running back Kooper Mace took one in on the ground and stretched out for the score. After

The #10 Blackfoot Broncos traveled to Westmark Stadium tonight to take on the #2 Hillcrest Knights on the road to the State Championship game.

The opening play for Hillcrest was a hand-off to Titan Larsen that went for a nice gain to midfield.
A few plays later quarterback Tyson Sweetwood again handed it to Larsen, this time down near the goal line. Larsen punched it in for 6, and after the extra point, it was 7-0 Knights.

On the Knights’ next possession, Sweetwood found Larsen near the sideline, and the running back cut upfield for a big gain down to the Broncos’ 6-yard line before getting pushed out of bounds.

A 6A match-up at Rigby high school tonight, as the Rigby Trojans hosted the Post Falls Trojans to see who will punch their ticket to the 6A semifinals.
The Trojans of Rigby know how to make an entrance, and as they were about to hit the field, the lights went out, fans illuminated their flashlights on their phones, and fireworks were set off.
Rigby started the game with the ball after Post Falls won the toss and deferred.

A neutral site match-up between the one-seeded Skyline Grizzlies and the sixteen-seeded Nampa Bulldogs. The site? The ICCU Dome in Pocatello, home of the Idaho State Bengals. On the first drive of the game and the second play from scrimmage, Nampa took some early momentum, as Skyline QB CarMyne Garcia launched a ball down field for Trey Kirkham, but it was intercepted by defensive back Antonio Sandoval.

Two top-five 6-a teams square off in this big battle between the Madison Bobcats and the visiting Highland Rams.
The opening kick off, to a game that both head coaches said feels like the first playoff game, saw Lana Alvarico takes this one out of the endzone and does not get very far.

It was Senior Night at Bonneville High School, for the final game of the regular season.
This match-up between Bonneville and Skyline saw the Grizzlies come out swinging, going up by over 3 touchdowns after 1 quarter.

Tonight was Senior Night at Thunder Ridge High School. Players were introduced pre-game, walking out with their parents as the P.A. announcer listed their names and hobbies for all in attendance.
After festivities concluded, the ball was placed and the game was underway.
And the Rigby Trojans hit the ground running – literally – as Jerzey Duenes took a hand-off on the opening play of the game for a massive gain down to Thunder Ridge’s 15 yard-line.

The Ririe Bulldogs head north for a dogfight against the North Fremont Huskies.

This 3A match-up got off to a slow start, it was 8 to 8 after 4 quarters of play. We needed overtime to find a winner, and both teams would punch in scores in the overtime frame. However, it was Firth who scored in OT, and then punched in the ensuing 2-point conversion. North Fremont would score one themselves, but could not convert their 2-point try, and Firth came away with the win.

It was Senior Night at South Fremont High School for this 4A match-up between the Diggers and the Cougars.

The Pocatello Thunder hosted the Twin Falls Bruins tonight in a dogfight.

Sugar Salem digs their way out of a two-loss hole with a resounding win over Preston

Tonight’s the 62nd black-and-blue bowl, a cross-town contest between Highland and Pocatello.

The South Fremont Cougars run onto the field against the American Falls Beavers in a 4-A contest.

The Star Valley Braves traveled to Teton, just one week after stunning Sugar-Salem, and handily defeated Teton, 56-6.

Highland kept the pendulum of momentum on their side tonight, taking it 37-27.

The Bonneville Bees take on the Idaho Falls Tigers. Bonneville goes on to win this game 27 to 14.

Aberdeen keeps their record clean, winning 29-14. Both teams started undefeated, but someone had to fall.

RIGBY, Idaho (KIFI) – The Rigby Trojans hosted Bishop Kelly for their homecoming game, and took care of business winning 42-7. Before the game, the Trojans unveiled an American flag that stretched 50 yards across the field for the National Anthem. Also included in the pregame festivities were flyovers from multiple planes, and fireworks. It

The Thunder Ridge Titans hosted the Hillcrest Knights and some of Bonneville County’s finest for first responders night.

The Star Valley Braves traveled to Sugar City and stunned the Sugar-Salem Diggers, handing the team their first loss since the year 2021.

The Pocatello Thunder roars onto the field to take on the Blackfoot Broncos on September 13th.

The Madison Bobcats spoiled Skyline’s Homecoming game, defeating the Grizzlies by a single point.

The Rigby Trojans came up victorious in a Northwest Showdown contest Friday, defeating the Moses Lake Mavericks of Washington State 47-12.

The Hillcrest Knights opened Westmark Stadium in style Friday, defeating the Bonneville Bees 46-28. Hillcrest is now 16-4 against Bonneville over the past 20 years.
